Dear Brandon

Here is what you have missed.  On Halloween morning, the sun was a shinin' so we went and and raked/played in the leaves.
We don't have trees that lose leaves, but the neighbors are nice enough to share theirs.
Later we went trick or treating at Grandma's house.  Afterwards we rushed to the ward party which was inside this year - bummer.

And last but not least we lit our freshly carved pumpkins.

Junior's First Hunt

First of all, here is an awesome photo that husband took.  He is way better with the camera than I am.
Here is Junior all bundled up in the mountains.  It was pretty cold from what I hear.  I had a great time helping him get all ready to go, and digging out all of his warm clothes.  He was so excited when they left the house.  The grin on his face was priceless.

He was asleep that night when they got home, so I didn't get to hear what he had to say immediately.  The next morning however, he told me, "We didn't find any deer.  They were hiding in the trees," and "I think I left my gun in Kasey's truck."

While the hunters were gone, Pinkie and I rented and watched four movies.  I worked on a quilt, and she colored.  We had a ball.

Good Bye Summer

Husband's grandpa held a summer BBQ a few weeks ago. It was the perfect end of summer celebration. The weather was perfect.

Apparently when you are six, it is nearly impossible to look at the camera.

New Girl in Town

If you haven't heard, there is a new girl in town. She is cute enough to take your man, so hold on tight. Mamma is really sick, so keep her in your prayers.

Words to Laugh By

The last few weeks, we have been in stitches with all of the funny things our little man has been saying.  Here are the ones that come to mind at the moment:

"I am the stud big bad."

"Do you want me to jump off the bed - No it's dangerous, this bed is too high."

After running through the sprinklers with his clothes on, I asked him if it was fun, and he said, "No, it was cold."

He fell off the couch, and muttered, "Oh godfrey!"

"You're a turkey bird."  (Got that one from grandpa.)

My sister asked him what football team he liked and he said, "The Browns.  They have orange helmets.  We don't like BYU, we just hate 'em."

The other day he was watching me fold clothes and started mumbling, "I belong to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."  He must have learned that in nursery.  He likes to say it in his new found "Mater" (from cars, think Larry the Cable Guy) voice.

Another one he must have learned at nursery, "Jesus loves everybody, he loves mom, he loves dad, etc.....)

My personal favorite.  I have potty training him for a few weeks now.  Today when I was helping, he climbed on the potty and said, "Push that sucker down."

Kindergarten

Pinkie started Kindergarten two weeks ago.  I know, I know, I am late in posting about it.  The went off without a hitch, if you don't count the bloody nose that she woke up with.  I can't leave out this detail, because it is so Pinkie:  The week before school started, she pointed out that there would probably be a lot of new boys to meet at school.  So far, I am only hearing about the girls, so maybe she will grow out of her boy craziness by first or second grade.  That would be a relief.

Junior, of course, had to wear his backpack, and yell out "Kindergarten" for the pictures too.  After I dropped Pinkie off the first day, he said, "Is she coming back?"   Most days he asks for her five to ten times while she is gone.  We really miss her.

Spaghetti Sauce

This weekend we had an adventure in canning.  On Friday night the kids and I juiced tomatoes so I could make spaghetti sauce on Saturday morning.  Junior has become so inquisitive lately.  He was firing questions out every ten seconds, "Why are you cutting the tomatoes, why don;t you want the skins, why do you want the juice, why does the juice come out........"  and on and on and on.  Pinkie is always into food and cooking.  These two were pros by the end of it.  They could practically run the Victorio Strainer themselves.

After about 7 hours of work, I ended up with 8 jars of sauce.  Sheesh, this sauce better be good!
