Singing in the Rain

One of Pinkie's favorite presents was this princess "brumella". Mother nature did us a real favor and gave us rain on the first day of Fall. Pinkie insisted that I go play in the rain with her. Would you believe that Junior broke one of the points of the umbrella the first day?

Splat

I can't believe Junior is still smiling after he got attacked by a cherry tomato. The kids have really loved having a garden this year.

Welcome Callie Ann

How cute is my new niece Callie Ann? She even came into the world on her great grandpa Bob'b birthday. How special. Maybe they should have named here Callie Bob. Ha Ha.

It was all pretty last minute, but it ended up that all of the sisters got to go see Callie together. I don't remember the last time that I was with all of my sisters at once! I am the lucky one holding the baby.

Birthday Wishes

We love birthdays around here. Pinkie had a great day. When she woke up I hurried to her room and sand "Happy Birthday" to her. She said, "Is it today? Am I really five?" Then I took her to the living room that her dad had decorated with balloons and crepe paper while we were all asleep. She thought it looked "beautiful!" If you can believe it she was so excited about this certificate in the photo above that her teachers gave her!

Earlier in the week we had a combined party for her and Monster. My mom came, and two of my sisters. I love this picture of the kids singing.

Several weeks ago I asked Pinkie what she wanted for her birthday and she said, "Puppies for Lola." (For some reason she is convinced Lola is going to have puppies.) When I saw these doggies on a blog, I new I just had to make them for her. They turned out really cute. You can read my post about them here.

More details to come, I promise.

Blue

I think his favorite color is blue. I know this because he eats all of his blue Froot Loops first.

Yellow House

I think every moment would be blissful if I lived in this sunny yellow house. I have had plenty of bliss in red houses though, maybe I will stick with red.

Terrible Two's

Making The "Terrible" Twos Terrific Making The "Terrible" Twos Terrific by John Rosemond

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
When I complained to a friend about my 20 month old son being so beligerent, she recommended this book. I feel like it was right on the money. It is full of specific parenting ideas that I am filing away in my brain. I hope I can find them in there when I need them.

Set Backs

Sorry that I haven't blogged. The last week of August seemed full of set backs. Here's what happened: (not all are setbacks)

Monday Aug 25: The doctor tells me I have strep throat.
Junior has officially chewed up his binki beyond use. Bye-Bye binki.
Junior decides he doesn't want to take a nap, so he climbs out of his bed.
Tuesday Aug 26: He-who-must-not-be-named back at school for fall semester.
Pinkie's first day of preschool. Hurry to the store to get a backpack that morning because her old one is too small.
When asked about her first day of school Pinkie reports that no boys talked to her. Here we go again.
Thursday Aug 27: Order new beds for the kids. No hope left of Junior staying in his.
Labor day weekend: Plan on a trip to the lot to see my dad's cabin in progress. Mother nature had other plans. We had a fun time at my paren't house anyway.
