Have Your Cake

There are a lot of great things about being 1. Just as Junior. He is now an expert on the subject. Perhaps the best part is having your cake and eating it too, with your hands. If you are super lucky, you will get to do it more than once, because you are having more than one party. You are also lucky if your cousin turns one a month before you, and you get invited to share the cake.




Other good things about being one:

You are a professional peek-a-booer.
You can now eat whatever food you want, but you only want the food that is not good for you.
You now have a vocabulary of four words including Ma Ma, Da Da, Hello, and Lola. The rest is gobbledygook.
Your fingers are officially numb from repeatedly shutting them in drawers.
You have some of your own toys now, so your sisters stuff can have a week or two off from your snatching.
You get to face forward in the car.
You don't have time for getting dressed, or getting your diaper changed.
